Medicaid is a national health care program.  It helps pay for medical services for low-income people.  For those eligible for full Medicaid services, Medicaid is paid to providers of health care.  Providers are doctors, hospitals and pharmacists who accept Medicaid.

The mission of the Division of Medicaid is to ens  ure access to health services for the Medicaid eligible population in the most cost efficient and comprehensive manner possible and to continually pursue strategies for optimizing the accessibility and quality of health care.

bullett June 12 - The existing Mississippi Electronic Health Record and ePrescribing System version 7.2 (MEHRS/eScript 7.2) is being upgraded to Version 7.3 on June 30, 2013. All users of the current MEHRS system (MEHRS/eScript version 7.2) will be impacted on June 30, 2013, and all Version 7.2 user accounts will become inactive. Additionally, any reports in the current MEHRS version 7.2 will no longer be accessible after June 30, 2013. The new, upgraded system is called MEHRS/eScript Version 7.3, and will allow for eligible professionals to apply for up to $63,750 in provider incentive payments from Medicaid. The upgraded MEHRS/eScript Version 7.3 is certified to comply with the Federal Government's standards for Meaningful Use of an Electronic Health Record. The upgraded MEHRS/eScript Version 7.3 is provided to Medicaid providers at no cost.
