Mississippi Medicaid takes steps in response to outbreak

In response to the coronavirus outbreak, the Mississippi Division of Medicaid is restricting public access to regional offices, effective immediately.

RO staff members are to maintain normal business hours and must be available to the public by phone, mail and email. Telephone interviews will be substituted for the required in-person interview for institutional categories.

The agency website will be updated to notify the public of this action. The website also has information on the ways in which an application can be filed. The quickest and easiest way is the Common Web Portal, https://www.access.ms.gov/. Application forms are available on the agency’s website and can be requested by telephone, mail or email. Contact numbers and mailing addresses are located at https://medicaid.ms.gov/about/office-locations/.

Additionally, there are plans to provide locked drop-boxes for document drop-offs.

The Mississippi Division of Medicaid is taking these common-sense steps to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 and to ensure staff remains available to serve the community. This is not a cause for alarm but to safeguard our ability to serve the public during this outbreak. Updates will be posted at https://medicaid.ms.gov/.
