On Oct. 31, the Mississippi Division of Medicaid (DOM) submitted a Section 438.6(c) Preprint document to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS). The preprint proposal will allow the continuation of MHAP payments to hospitals through the end of fiscal year (FY) 2018. The proposal is a necessary first step to ensure compliance with recent federal regulatory requirements. DOM is dedicated to working with CMS and stakeholders to fully preserve the MHAP funding into the future and continue the required transition to a payment structure with linkages between payment and the utilization, quality or outcomes of delivered services. A decision from CMS is expected by Jan. 30, 2018.
