Covered Services

Mississippi Medicaid Health Benefits Overview

Medicaid beneficiaries are encouraged to get a free annual health screening from your doctor or clinic. This physical examination will not be used to determine your eligibility for Medicaid. You do not have to pay for this health screening and it does not count as one of your office visits!

For individuals who can get full Mississippi Medicaid health benefits, the following are covered services:

  • office visits
  • family planning services
  • inpatient hospital care
  • outpatient hospital care
  • prescription drugs
  • eyeglasses
  • long term care services
  • inpatient psychiatric care

For more details regarding limits and maximum services available, please refer to the following webpages: Fee Schedules and Rates, Mississippi Medicaid State Plan and Title 23 of the Mississippi Administrative Code.
