Provider Off-Cycle Revalidation Overview

Provider Off-Cycle Revalidation Overview

The Mississippi Division of Medicaid (DOM) is conducting an off-cycle provider revalidation initiative at the direction of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). The purpose of this initiative is to strengthen Medicaid program integrity by ensuring provider enrollment information remains accurate, complete, and up to date.

Providers selected for off-cycle revalidation will receive an official notification by mail and through the MESA Provider Portal. Notifications will be issued in phases throughout the initiative.

If you are selected for off-cycle revalidation, you are required to:

  • Submit your revalidation application through the MESA Provider Portal within 60 days of the date in your notification letter.
  • Verify that your mailing address and contact information in the MESA Provider Portal are current.
  • Respond promptly to any requests for additional documentation or information during the review process.

Failure to complete the revalidation process within the required timeframe may result in:

  • Suspension of Fee-for-Service Medicaid claim payments
  • Termination of Medicaid enrollment
  • Loss of Medicaid billing privileges

This off-cycle revalidation initiative is a one-time CMS-directed effort and does not replace the federally required provider revalidation conducted every five years. Providers will still be required to complete their routine five-year revalidation according to their established schedule.

Check My Status

There are several ways to determine whether your provider revalidation or recredentialing is due.

You can:

  • • Login Log in to your MESA Provider Portal account regularly to review your recent correspondence. When you are within six months of your revalidation or recredentialing due date, you will receive a notification letter and the corresponding Revalidation or Recredentialing link will be available in the portal.
  • • Search by your National Provider Identifier (NPI) or Medicaid ID using the Provider Search Tool to view your next revalidation or recredentialing due date.
  • • Review the Provider Six-Month Revalidation Due List to see if you or one of your providers is scheduled for revalidation within the next six months.
  • • Review the Provider Six-Month Recredentialing Due List to determine whether you or one of your providers is due for recredentialing within the next six months.

Tip: If your organization has multiple providers, be sure to check each provider individually, as due dates may vary.
