Want to make changes to your current healthcare coverage?

This is your annual chance to review and change your Medicaid health plan. Changes will be effective January 1, 2027.

You can only switch once – you can chose to:

  • Stay with the MississippiCAN or CHIP health plan you have now.
  • Switch to another health plan.
  • If you like your current plan, no change is needed!

What is open enrollment?

Open enrollment is a time each year when some Medicaid members can change their health plan.

When is open enrollment?

Open enrollment is from October 1 to December 15 each year for members in MississippiCAN and CHIP.

What should I do during open enrollment?

• Call your doctor and ask which health plans they accept.
• If your doctor accepts all plans, use the comparison chart to see which plan fits you best.
• Fill out and send in one open enrollment form to pick the plan you want.
• You can choose 1 of 3 health plans.
• Only the first form you send will count.

Do I have to change my plan?

No. If you like your current plan, you can keep it.
If you do not change plans now, you must wait until the next open enrollment period.

How do I change my health plan?

Fill out the open enrollment form and choose the plan you want.
Send the form in before December 15.

What happens if I do not choose a plan?

You will stay in the same plan you have now.

How can I learn more about a health plan?

• Call the plan you are interested in.
• Look at the comparison chart.
• Send in your form before December 15.

Can I send my form in late?

No. There are no exceptions.
All forms must be turned in by December 15.
Any changes will start on January 1.
