Division of Medicaid to issue RFP for coordinated care contractors

The Mississippi Division of Medicaid (DOM) launched its coordinated care program in January of 2011 and since then it has continuously changed. Currently, the Mississippi Coordinated Access Network (MississippiCAN) program has grown to include approximately 70 percent of Medicaid beneficiaries.

Early this year, DOM will release a request for proposals (RFP) in an open, competitive process for MississippiCAN. Through the procurement process, DOM is expected to select at least three entities to participate in the program, offering more choice for a larger population of coordinated care beneficiaries. The primary goals of MississippiCAN are to improve access to care for Medicaid beneficiaries, improve quality of care, and improve cost prevention and predictability.
