Inpatient Hospital Payment Method
for Mississippi Medicaid


The Mississippi Division of Medicaid will move to a new method of paying for hospital inpatient  services.  The implementation date has not been decided.  Our goals are to improve access to care, increase fairness to hospitals, reward efficiency, improve purchasing clarity, and reduce administrative burden for both the Division and the hospitals.

“Refresher” trainings will be scheduled for interested hospital staff closer to the implementation date.

Jan-June 2006 Simulation Results

The 2006 simulation results are now available for each hospital. To request your hospital’s results, please e-mail Tiffany.Hollis@acs-inc.com She will need the name of the hospital, the contact person’s name, title, e-mail address and physical address.

Hospital Payment Technical Advisory Group

In designing and implementing improved methods for purchasing hospital services, the Division of Medicaid has been working with a Technical Advisory Group convened by the Mississippi Hospital Association. Meetings are open to any interested person. Please note that these meetings are working sessions, requiring preparation on technical aspects of hospital payment methods. If you would like to attend an upcoming meeting, please contact Margaret King, Director of the Bureau of Reimbursement at the Division of Medicaid, at rbmck@medicaid.state.ms.us or 601-359-6155, so that she can provide background information on the agenda items. Upcoming TAG meetings will be announced.
